Flash for Independent Cartoon & Comic Projects

Jennifer Shiman, creator of 30-Second Bunnies Theatre, has had an ongoing love affair with Flash since 1998. During her session she will do the following: Show you some of her bunnies' work; Demonstrate a few examples of how she achieved specific effects during cartoon production; Discuss her experiences with Flash and the "one-man-band" business model; Share some thoughts on using Flash for independent cartoon and comic projects. She will also show you how she used Flash to lay out a minicomic. She aims to entertain you while presenting an informative case study about working with Flash to implement the cartoon vision.

Jennifer Shiman, a Chicago native based in Los Angeles, is a cartoonist/animator and content developer. She created 30-Second Bunnies Theatre in early 2004 as an online portfolio experiment. Her bunnies\' movie re-enactments have garnered enthusiastic response,
write-ups and industry accolades ever since. Starz Entertainment Group brought the bunnies to further broadcast and on-demand media fame by commissioning additional shorts from late 2004 through 2010. Over 60 bunny shorts have recently been released on a DVD collection, available through Amazon. The bunnies have received over one billion pageviews on Shiman\'s site, Angryalien.com, since their first appearance.
