Flash Kickstart 101
If you've always wanted to work with Adobe Flash but never knew where or how to start, this workshop is for you. Expand your skill set and start working with one of the most in-demand software platforms around today. Don't miss this hands-on introduction to Adobe Flash Professional. Whether you want to start building your own projects, start offering Flash services to your clients, or learn enough to better communicate with the Flash Designers and Developers you work with, you'll hit the ground running after this workshop. If you're a designer looking to enhance your job prospects familiarity with Flash will be very advantageous. We will take a "101" approach to Flash CS5 and start from the beginning: - Getting used to the interface - Understanding key concepts and vocabulary - Workflow: Importing assets, integration with Photoshop/Illustrator - Animation: Creating Motion Tweens and shortcuts As we gain experience with Flash, we'll move into topics like: - Intermediate animation techniques - ActionScript 3.0: the concept, button actions, and timeline actions - Publishing techniques We'll also build a simple, reusable photo gallery, a banner ad, and a video player (as well as a few other useful examples). The point of this session is to make you familiar with Flash and ActionScript 3.0, and make you efficient right out of the gate. You'll get a plethora of resources to help you build a foundation for your Flash career. Start thinking about what you want to do with Flash. Once you register for the workshop, we invite you to tell us about your goals and objectives. We'll be glad to address your individual ambitions and advise you on how to approach your first Flash project. No prior knowledge of Flash is required for this sessions. Experience with other Adobe Creative Suite products is helpful, but definitely not required. The only real prerequisite is that you are open minded and excited to start learning Flash Professional. Attendees will be required to install Flash CS5 Professional prior to the session (either the 30-day trial or full version). If you have Flash CS4 and aren't able to upgrade, have no fear. The majority of what we cover in this session will work in both CS4 and CS5.
