Creating Custom Components in Flex 4

Have you eased into a comfortable position as a Flex 3 developer and are pumping out application after application? Are these applications filled with custom components that you've made by extending existing components or even built from scratch? Well, as you begin to make the jump to the Flex 4 framework, you might be surprised by all the changes in this process. The Spark Components in Flex 4 have been re-written from the group up and play by some different rules. This session is meant to ramp up your Flex 4 custom component skills. We'll dive deep into the Spark framework. We'll look at the process of not only creating a custom component, but skinning it as well. This session is perfect for a developer familiar with the Flex 3 framework, but hasn't explored Flex 4 classes such as SkinnableComponent and SkinnableContainer or MetaData like [SkinPart] or [SkinState]. You'll see live code demonstrations and walk away knowing what it takes to make a custom component in Flex 4.
