About
The annual Flashbelt conference brings a few hundred designers and developers together in Minneapolis to get their geek on. Attendees meet a cadre of rock-star designers, whiz-kid developers, and best-selling authors. These industry leaders lead sessions and workshops on an array of timely topics. They teach tangible skills, inspire by example and answer lots of questions. As you might have guessed most of these topics revolve around Adobe Flash and related technologies. With the release of Flash Professional CS5 this spring, there will we plenty of new tools, trends and tips to talk about. Good timing!Outcomes: Attendees learn about the latest technologies and solutions, and get a glimpse of what's coming down the pipe. Their companies, clients and projects benefit. They meet other people in their field, exchange ideas, further inform their practices, and create new partnerships and alliances. They also typically make some new friends. Everybody likes friends.

WHAT ATTENDEES SAID ABOUT LAST YEAR:
"This is the best Flash conference I've been to. It had a great balance for designers and developers, both junior and senior." - Dominic Campese, Interactive Developer, Publicis
"AMAZING group of speakers for such a small conference, and that makes it awesome. No other conference allows its attendees to rub elbows with the Flash elite like Flashbelt." -Dan Holth, Universal Mind
"I look forward to Flashbelt every year. It's a chance to break out of the office and see what talented designers and developers are doing around the world. I always leave feeling refreshed, with my creative juices flowing." - Alyssa Wilcox, Designer, Capella
"I was VERY impressed. I learned a ton and came away inspired. This was the first conference of its kind that I've attended (for a variety of reasons) and Flashbelt made me a believer. It will now be on my calendar every year, and I'm kicking myself for not discovering it years ago." Jeff Blume, Developer, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin
"It was such a great mix of the artistic and the technical, with a nice variety of topics, and I love that it's a manageable size and that the presenters are so approachable. I came away inspired, enlightened, and ready to dig in and try some new things." - Jeni Henrickson, Interactive Design Specialist, University of MN
"I felt overwhelmed with knowledge. My brain swelled with knowledge absorbed from as many presentations as physically possible which left me inspired to make awesome things." - Jared May, Sandau Creative
"This conference was great and much needed after a tough economic year for the industry. Having a chance to touch base with other professionals and share ideas always brings up the spirits and helps folks focus on the long term." - Anthony Ellertson, Ph.D., Asst. Professor, Web and Digital Media Development Program - University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point
"Always a great way to kick off the summer! I am a bit surprised about how "entitled" I feel when this comes around. I can't imagine ever not going? It sort of freaks me out..." - Grant Eull, Senior Art Director, Proximity/BBDO Minneapolis
The mission of Flashbelt is to bring together new media designers, developers and enthusiasts to share knowledge, inspiration and build community. It's about professional development and creative inspiration. Dig it!
